If there is one thing worse that hanging around waiting for workmen to turn up, it's hanging around waiting for workmen to turn up on a Sunday. What is the world coming to?
To make matters worse they should of been coming yesterday, I had to wait in all morning and they never turned up.
It's the flood restoration company, they are coming to rip up the wooden floor, that we had laid less than a year ago!
I got so cross yesterday, that I ended up taking most of the floor myself, but there are some bits that i can't quite manage and it's a bit difficult moving our ridiculously big fridge by myself.
I was quite shocked how wet the floor still was underneath, we've now got the dryers in, so I feel like a proper flood victim. Goodness only knows how much they cost to run.
The room gets rather hot wih the dryers, so I suppose in a way it's not a bad thing we are having such a bad summer, there again, if we where having a good summer I wouldn't need to have the dryers in the first place.
I actually went to a BBQ last night. It was quite nice because James and Ella (and Leona) kindly picked me up, so I was able to have a few glasses of wine. I think I had a magic glass that refilled itself when i wasn't looking. This isn't helpful when you are to be expecting workmen anytime from 8 O'Clock onwards the following day. You can bet your life they'll turn up at 11.45 and wreck my plans for the full day. Good job I went to Mass Last night.

The last couple of weeks have really tested me, just when you think you've reached the end of your tether you realise you can actually bear more.
Ways Of Dealing With The Burdens Of Life:
Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days your the statue.
Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
It may be your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others. (Very Possible!)
Never buy a car you can't push.
Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
The second mouse gets the cheese.
When every thing's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
Birthdays are good for you. The more you have the longer you live.
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
